A leading manufacturer of insulation products for the construction industry has opened a unit at a Staffordshire business park.
ROCKWOOL Ltd has moved its logistics centre for its external wall insulation range to Unit 2, Zone 4, Burntwood Business Park, near Lichfield, after agreeing a three-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the zone.
The company, which has its manufacturing headquarters in Bridgend, South Wales, has relocated from a shared facility in Cannock, to the 21,976 sq ft Burntwood site.
Ian Kellie, logistics and supply chain director at ROCKWOOL said: ““We’ve been looking for a new Midlands base and this site provides us with what we needed in terms of space, facilities, close proximity to some of our main customers and easy access to the nationwide road network.”
Due to the size of the new facility, ROCKWOOL will be utilising the space by storing materials, holding regular meetings with customers and suppliers, and offering training sessions in the dedicated training and demonstration area. This site will also become the centre for the tinting process that is required for the external wall insulation range.
Andrew Preston, industrial portfolio manager, said the letting to the company meant that there is just one unit of 1,750 sq ft available on Zone 4 Burntwood Business Park.
“Companies are looking for high quality units that offer much-needed extras such as CCTV and mobile security patrols and we were able to accommodate ROCKWOOL with exactly what it was looking for,” he said.
“We are very pleased that this part of the business park is now home to so many thriving businesses.”
Zone 4, Burntwood Business Park, is located on the A5190 between Cannock and Lichfield. Junction T6 of the M6 Toll Road is less than one mile and the A5 is one and a half miles way. Junction 11 of the M6 is six miles away, while junction 1 of the M54 is eight miles away.
LCP has some availability at Zones 2 and 3, with units starting from 2,886 sq.ft.
