One of Swindon’s oldest carpet companies is opening a new outlet in Royal Wootton Bassett High Street, after securing premises through property consultants Alder King. Charles Geddes Carpets has agreed a new six year lease of Unit 2 Merchants House on the High Street which is prominently located adjacent to the War Memorial.
The unit in Merchants House was previously occupied by The Ninety Niner for 15 years and provides 647 sq ft of ground floor accommodation. The shop shares an entrance lobby with Bassett Books and includes a separate store room at the rear together with kitchenette and toilet facilities. There is car parking outside the entrance and a large car park behind the property.
Leroy Wilson, Partner of Charles Geddes Carpets said: “We have been looking to establish a shop in Royal Wootton Bassett for some time and when this property became available we knew it was the one for us. We will be supplying a wide range of carpets and all types of flooring with an empahsis on high quality customer care.”
James Gregory, partner at Alder King, commented: “Royal Wootton Bassett’s High Street is always popular with retailers. We have witnessed a high level of demand from a wide variety of different occupiers which has resulted in our private client benefitting from an established business as his new tenant. There was a very short void following the vacation of the last occupier who had traded from the property for over 15 years.”
