A residential and retail investment property on a popular shopping street at the heart of a busy Wiltshire market town has been sold.
Property consultancy Myddelton & Major successfully negotiated the freehold sale of 7 North Street in Wilton which was for sale on an asking price of £385,000.
The property is just a stone’s throw away from stately home Wilton House, which dates from 1544.
Myddelton & Major partner Dean Speer said: “A private investor has bought this property, demonstrating ongoing confidence in both the retail and residential sector.
“There was strong demand from potential purchasers and I am sure similar properties in the area would also do well.
“Historic and picturesque Wilton is just three miles from Salisbury with trunk road links and has seen something of a renaissance in recent years with new interest shops opening and refurbishment of the market square, making it attractive to investors who see the town’s future potential.”
The property is situated in the centre of the town overlooking the Market Square and the ruined abbey.
North Street is one of the main shopping streets in the centre of the town and other leading national occupiers include Co-op, One Stop and Lloyds Pharmacy.
The three-storey building is arranged as a ground floor shop with two self-contained one bedroom flats above. The building was extensively renovated and converted around three years ago.
The shop is let to the registered charity The Brainwave Centre for a term of six years from June 8, 2011.
The centre is dedicated to helping children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence and operates 25 retail units
