Independent women’s fashion retailer Glamorous is adding to the stylishness and good looks at Manchester’s world class retail and leisure destination, intu Trafford Centre.
Glamorous is taking 1,900 sq ft on a 10 year lease and will be located on the upper mall near Lipsy, Claire’s Accessories, Jack Wills, Schuh and Jack & Jones and close to Top Shop and Next.
Glamorous prides itself on offering, unique and stylish clothing for the fashion focused woman. Using innovative fabrics, exciting prints and beautiful silhouettes, it offers great quality styles at affordable prices. Glamorous currently partners with some of the best retailers globally including Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, Peek & Cloppenburg, and Galeries Lafayette.
intu Trafford Centre, the top shopping centre outside London according to RetailVision Rankings, is well known for its leading retail chains such as Selfridges, Superdry, Debenhams, John Lewis and River Island. However, independent stores such as Glamorous are an important part of the tenant mix at the 1.9 million sq ft super-regional prime centre.
Darren Fraser, head of retail at Glamorous, said: “Previously, Glamorous had traded only through retail channels based in the UK such as House of Fraser, Next, Top Shop and ASOS. This will be the first retail unit for Glamorous and, since we are a Manchester-based company, intu Trafford Centre is the perfect place to open a shop. It has high footfall and attracts customers from across the north west region.”
Glamorous is not the only independent retailer benefiting from the tenant mix and 31 million customer visits each year to intu Trafford Centre. Embracing a rock‘n’roll philosophy born out of counter culture musings, menswear company Elvis Jesus has relocated within intu Trafford Centre and upsized to a 1,100 sq ft unit.
The Elvis Jesus store also features independent brands Religion and Luke adding to the already vast choice for fashion conscious customers at intu Trafford Centre. Religion, which sells men’s and women’s clothes and accessories, is devoted to the pursuit of individual style with heavy influences from London’s east end and international street culture. Men’s clothing from Luke is equally at home in the city bar or in a sporting arena.
Julian Wilkinson, regional director of intu, said: “Customers love the choice available at intu Trafford Centre. With over 230 shops and restaurants plus an array of leisure attractions, we are attracting customers to travel from further and stay for longer, allowing our retailers’ businesses to flourish. Customers love the mix between top international brands and local, entrepreneurial, independent stores that offer their own styles and approach.”
Glamorous, Elvis Jesus, Religion and Luke all have strong multi-channel offerings with online purchases from their websites. intu, the leading owner and manager of prime regional shopping centres in the UK, provides the most digitally connected shopping centres giving customers a seamless online and offline experience. This includes free wifi and 4G connectivity at intu Trafford Centre.
