Iain Jenkinson has joined CBRE’s Manchester office as Senior Director for CBRE Planning. Iain’s arrival follows on from a series of strategic appointments and promotions as part of an ambitious expansion which will result in the planning and development department doubling in size by the end of the year, with further expansion planned.
The newly expanded team provides a comprehensive planning, development and funding service specialising in the delivery of large scale, complex, in-centre and mixed use schemes, for a variety of private and public sector clients. This integrated multi-disciplinary offer supports CBRE’s drive to be the leading commercial planning and development team across the North and reflects the global business’s commitment to the city and the north of England. CBRE’s Northern Planning & Development team has developed an excellent track record, particularly in the residential sector, and specifically the Private Rental Sector (PRS), securing planning permission for in excess of 1,300 PRS units in 2014. The team wants to build upon its PRS successes from 2014 and is currently working on a number of exciting Manchester City Centre projects which will come forward towards the end of the year.
Key clients include Schroders, CBRE Global Investors, Muse Developments, Maple Grove Developments, Dandara, Taylor Wimpey and United Utilities.
Iain Jenkinson will build upon the existing successful planning business, as part of an ongoing expansion programme centered on London, Birmingham, Bristol and Scotland. In his previous role as Senior Director at GVA, Iain led a number of diverse, high-profile projects, such as the second Mersey Crossing, City Place, Chester’s new Business Quarter and for Lancaster University on their Ageing-focussed Innovation Campus. In addition, Iain developed the firm’s public funding capabilities, including helping to establish and subsequently manage the North West’s JESSICA project.
Iain said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic business. It is great to be part of an expanding Manchester office, which has a truly global reach. My focus is on growing a northern Planning and Development team focused on Manchester and Leeds, and continuing to advise on the delivery of some of the north’s most significant development projects.”
