Leading Welsh broker, Antur Insurance, has successfully raised £3,000 for local charities, Victory Outreach and Cancer Research Wales.
The company raised the money, £1,500 for Victory Outreach and £1,500 for Cancer Research Wales, through a variety of staff fundraising events including one staff member who cycled across the Alps while others volunteered at local charity shops and events.
Antur staff have also raised money through two ongoing schemes run by the company including ‘Pennies from Heaven’ where staff donate the odd pennies from their pay straight to the charity and ‘Bonus Balls’ where staff take part in a lottery scheme and instead of rollovers the charities gain.
Laura Hooper, fundraising manager of Cancer Research Wales, said: “Antur Insurance has been a great support to Cancer Research Wales over the last year. Staff have been an invaluable help to the charity by giving us their time. Staff volunteered with us at our sponsored Pink-a-Blue Walks in the summer as well as volunteering in our charity shops and Bridal Suite.
“In addition to this great support, a phenomenal £1511.82 was raised. A special thank you goes to Wayne Hurley, who took on the challenge of cycling from Geneva to Niece in aid of Cancer Research Wales. Thank you Antur Insurance for your wonderful support.”
John Knox, chairman of Antur Insurance, said: “The past 12 months have been really successful in raising an impressive amount of money for two local causes. I’d like to say a big well done to all staff at Antur who have contributed towards these efforts and it makes me proud that we are giving to those in need of support.”
Antur Insurance Services Ltd was formed in 2001 as a joint venture between four existing companies. It has grown into a network of local offices throughout South Wales which understand their customers’ needs and can offer the personal touch to insurance. Its head office is Walter Road in Swansea.
