A leading commercial property agency is moving forward into a new era after taking on a new look and a new name.
Shortland Horne Commercial, based in Coventry, has been renamed Shortland Penn + Moore to reflect a change in its make up and a widening of services.
The firm, which was founded 11 years ago, specialises in all aspects of commercial property including sales, lettings, professional services and investment agency.
Jonathan Moore, formerly part of the investment team at the Birmingham office of DTZ, joined the company as a director last year and that has been one of the spurs behind the new identity.
David Penn, managing director of Shortland Penn + Moore, said: “We celebrated our 10th anniversary last year and decided to take a long look at what we did and how we did it.
“Our depth of expertise over a wide range of commercial activity has grown in recent years as we have expanded, and the addition of Jonathan added to that in a significant way.
“We have fared well during what has been a torrid time in the commercial property market and thought now was the right time for us to look at how we will operate as the economy improves. We want to be fully geared up and prepared for an uplift in market conditions.
“We offer far more to clients now in areas such as in funding sources, rates mitigation, fit-outs, Energy Performance Certificates, building surveying and design and marketing, some of which are offered by way of referrals to carefully selected partners, and that list is growing.
“We have always offered a quality service and have always been highly-regarded in areas such as development but we are constantly looking to progress and improve what we do as well as developing new aspects of the business which will help our clients. The new look and new name is significant but it is only part of what we are doing.”
The company retains its links with the Shortland Horne residential and lettings agency.
Penn added: “Our links with the Shortland Horne companies enable us to be a leading adviser on mixed-use schemes in the region and again bring added-value services to our clients.”
Shortland Horne was founded as a general property practice by David Shortland, one of the region’s best known names in property services, in 1995.
Penn joined from Countrywide in 1998 to set up the commercial division and it was established as a separate entity in 2000. He is the fourth generation of his family in professional practice in the city.
