The former public toilets in Poole Hill, for so long a magnet for anti-social behaviour, are no longer a blight on the local community. Even only half way through a programme of upgrade and refurbishment, the property and site are starting to look like a facility that benefits the improving Triangle area. The upgrade will provide 60 sq m of business space, on a very prominent island site of about 280 sq m.
Local developers, brother and sister team Gary Fox and Sharon Fox, who bought the property from Bournemouth Borough Council said, “The planners were very accommodating in granting a flexible consent. The building and site can be used for a wide variety of retail, office, leisure, educational and community use. I have lived in Bournemouth for years, and to turn this anti-social eyesore into a lovely new commercial facility, is urban regeneration at its best, and gives me a good feeling”.
The marketing Agent, Grant Cormack of Goadsby‘s commented, “The site is looking really good. Once the groundwork’s are finished, paved and turfed, it will be unrecognisable. We expect to attract a good, established, tenant. Interest levels are already very high”.
