Two Nottingham businesses have combined to secure the seven-figure purchase of a landmark office development in Chesterfield.
NG Chartered Surveyors brokered the purchase of Edinburgh House on Millennium Business Park to its client Bassi Properties, whilst Rothera Dowson dealt with the legal side of the deal.
Edinburgh House is a 10,170 sq ft office complex that is let to insurance giant AIG until July 2020.
Richard Sutton, director at NG, said: “Millennium Park is an established office area with other occupiers including Accenture, Avoca and Aveva in Venture House, Keller GeoTechnique and the Westwick Group at Dunston Court, Emeg at Dunston Place and Proact in several buildings on Dunston Technology Park.
“Our local knowledge meant that we were able to identify Edinburgh House as a potential investment opportunity for our client Bassi Properties, as it looks to grow throughout the region. NG has had a long and successful relationship with Bassi Properties, and we hope to work with them on any future investments we can identify for them.”
Tom Redgate, partner at Rothera Dowson, added: “We have a long standing relationship with Bassi Properties, having provided legal advice to owner Avanish Bassi for many years. It’s been rewarding for us to see his property portfolio grow over the years.
“This deal and wider success of Millennium Business Park is testament to the growing strength of the commercial property sector. Business is starting to show signs of improvement for many and, with that, comes the confidence to expand. Investors in the East Midlands are reacting accordingly and are quite rightly looking to expand their portfolios.”
Avanish Bassi of Bassi Properties, said: “Chesterfield is the largest town in Derbyshire with over 15 million people living within a two hour drive, and so it was an obvious investment choice.
“Richard has represented my company, Bassi Properties, for a number of years now and dealings with him and NG went smoothly, as always. Richard is already on the lookout for more investments to add to our growing portfolio.
“I have been using Rothera Dowson for over 30 years and have found them to be very thorough with all my transactions with them, which is of key importance in this industry.”
The vendors were advised by Simon Lewis of Morse Estates and the Derby office of Freeths. Edinburgh House is prominently located fronting onto Millennium Way, Dunston Road, approximately 1.5 miles from Chesterfield city centre and offering easy access to the motorway network.
