Such is the demand for well-located property that the recently opened Gosport Post Office and WH Smith at 51-52 High Street, was signed and sealed before the property ever came on to the open market.
Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell had been appointed by Mr Jay Briah to find a suitable location that would provide a new post office and retail outlet for the town. The 3,600 sq ft unit although vacant was not being marketed and Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell were able to approach the landlord direct. In addition to being right for the post office, Mr Briah was able to secure the franchise for WH Smith which has now completed the fit out of the space. Dal Athwal has been appointed as the new postmaster.
Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell director Tom Holloway comments: “This transaction is typical of what we are seeing in many areas across the south. As availability is becoming increasingly tight, we are having to act quickly when we find well located space in order to secure it for potential occupiers. It’s good to see a new post office open in Gosport to serve the local community.”
