Leading engineering and specialist contractor, North Midland Construction PLC (NM Group) is to be awarded six gold medals in the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2015.
To be awarded a gold medal at the RoSPA Awards is particularly impressive as a medal is only awarded to companies which have received a gold award for the past five or more consecutive years. NM Group’s Highways & Utilities, Building and Civil Engineering divisions will each receive a gold medal having won a gold award for five consecutive years. Meanwhile, NMCNomenca will be awarded a gold medal following six consecutive years, North Midland Construction PLC for eight years and Nomenca Limited for an incredible nine consecutive years.
RoSPA’s annual scheme exists to recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Judges assess entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Mark Mason, NM Group’s executive director for QESH (Quality, Environment, Safety & Health), said: “For every division within the NM Group to be awarded a gold medal by RoSPA is a huge achievement. It is an honour to be recognised by RoSPA for our commitment to health and safety.”
David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as the NM Group, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them for this.”
NM Group’s numerous gold medals will be presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre on 14 July 2015.
