CBRE’s Manchester office has appointed Neil Mort to head up its North West office agency division following a highly successful year in which the team was involved in 42% of the overall combined North West deals.
Neil is a well-respected member of the North West property community with over 17 years’ experience in the offices market, previously working at a senior level with both Knight Frank and Savills. Neil has an excellent track record of advising both landlords and occupiers on delivering key new build office schemes, office space disposals and occupier acquisitions. Neil also has direct office development experience working for BAM Properties, a key CBRE client, delivering important speculative new build office schemes in Salford Quays and South Manchester.
CBRE has the largest North West office team and during 2014, was involved in over 73% of all Grade A lettings in Manchester City Centre and let 320,864 sq ft in Liverpool City Centre which amounted to 84% on a sq ft basis of overall City Centre deals. The team completed the largest single letting last year, 110,000 sq ft, to Slater & Gordon at 58 Mosley Street.
Recent highlights for the team have been representing Ask on the marketing of First Street, Manchester where it completed a total of 85,000 sq ft of lettings in 2014. CBRE also completed the 85,000 sq ft Barclays acquisition at 4 Piccadilly Place and undertook the largest single letting in Liverpool City Centre in 2014, 22,211 sq ft to Mercer at 4 St Paul’s Square.
Neil will be working with CBRE’s key retained, high-profile North West instructions which include; Airport City, MediaCityUK for Peel, Muse’s Stockport Exchange, First Street for Ask, 3 Hardman Square for Credit Suisse and Towers, Didsbury for Moorfield where CBRE has let or re-geared 42% of the overall space amounting to 123,505 sq ft within a 12 month period.
