Exciting new venue for Wooden Spoon Clubhouse

The Children’s charity of rugby, Wooden Spoon, will once again be hosting its infamous ‘Spoon Clubhouse’ to celebrate the first 6 Nations home game, Wales Scotland, on Sunday 12th February 2012.

The event, which will be attended by former British Lion and Welsh international, Tom Shanklin, and a contingent from Treorchy Male Voice Choir, is being held at the Radisson Blu hotel, Cardiff. The hotel is just minutes from the Millennium Stadium, making it the perfect location to enjoy pre and post match celebrations whilst raising money for this excellent cause.

Huw Thomas, Chairman of the Wooden Spoon Wales committee, said: “Our ‘Spoon Clubhouse’ is a great way for people to meet friends in a relaxed, sociable environment whilst at the same time raising money for physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged children. There is always a great atmosphere on match days and the team at the Radisson Blu have been very supportive in providing us with fantastic facilities right at the heart of things.”

Tickets are £35 per person which includes a curry, chips and chilli menu and post match hot snack. There will also be large screens at the hotel for those who aren’t attending the game.  Tickets for post match attendance only, are available at a discounted price of £15 per person.

The Wooden Spoon children’s charity operates in partnership with the UK rugby community and involves some of rugby’s top sporting role models making a difference in the lives of young people. Wooden Spoon is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people across the United Kingdom live happier, richer lives by teaching them the values and spirit of rugby to help them reach their full potential.
