Members and guests of The City of Newport Business Club, who attended the April business lunch event on Tuesday 21st, were treated to an uplifting, refreshing and very enjoyable informal talk by Andy McCann on his renowned coaching and performance techniques.
Held at The Holiday Inn, Newport, the highly respected adviser, mentor and performance coach to high performing and high profile people, shared his stories and methods with interest and humour. Highlighting the synergy between sports and business, his pragmatic approach to high performance leadership was cleverly constructed and professionally delivered. He explained how important it is to get people to see challenges and not threats and also described his ‘Podium Philosophy’ which develops a sense of team-ship.
His enthusiastic delivery enlightened the guests on how top sports people, such as Welsh Rugby Internationals, Sam Warburton and Lee Halfpenny have benefited from his methods by unlocking their true potential to be the best they can be.
The club’s Chairman, Janine Dance commented: “It was an enormous privilege to listen to Andy and to hear how sports psychology translates into the business world. It was a great talk with some really useful insights. Our guests really enjoyed Andy’s inspirational and enlightening advice”
