One of the UK’s leading recruitment and training companies has extended their sponsorship of Newport Cricket Club for the third year running.
The agreement will see Acorn continue to support the club as they aim to further improve the facilities on-site.
The sponsorship will help the club to raise much-needed funds in order to cater for its growing popularity and future plans, which include the refurbishment of the Changing Rooms in the Squash Court Building. The club recently received approval from Newport City Council for its Junior Changing Room Project, which has been the culmination of three years’ hard work, fundraising efforts and support from sponsors such as Acorn.
Part of the sponsorship from Acorn will also be directed to creating and running a new under 9’s team and support them as they commence playing regular matches.
Maria Larcombe, Acorn Director of Operations for South Wales, said: “Acorn is proud to support the local community. Newport Cricket Club has an exciting vision for the future and we hope our support will contribute towards their ambition of creating opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the game.”
As part of the sponsorship deal, Acorn will have two banners placed in prominent places within the Newport International Sports Village, adverts within fixture cards and a presence on the club’s website.
Junior Coordinator of Newport Cricket Club, Dave Knight said: “We’re very grateful to have the continued backing of a well-known local company such as Acorn. Their support will help take the club closer to developing the facilities we need to cater for our expanding teams and give more people in our community a chance to enjoy cricket.”
