Birmingham-based J S Wright has proved that it’s the best in Britain after winning the Building Services Contractor of the Year award at the industry’s Oscars.
The 125-year-old company, which has its HQ in Aston and offices in Bristol and London, saw off competition from seven other finalists to take the top spot in the H&V News Awards.
The award, sponsored by Wilo, recognises outstanding competence, professionalism and innovation, along with commercial success.
In front of over 1,100 of the brightest and best across the UK building services industry at the Grosvenor House Hotel In London, the judges said: “In a very high-quality shortlist, JS Wright met all levels of the criteria and showed a number of innovative initiatives.”
J S Wright, which was honoured for its Outstanding Contribution to the Industry at the same annual awards ceremony in 2013, last year achieved a record-breaking turnover of £25m and secured its biggest-ever series of contracts valued at over £18m to equip an apartment and hotel scheme for Indescon Court at Canary Wharf.
The company also introduced new techniques to save energy, time and resources in fit outs, and invested in a new quality engineer and state-of-the-art snagging software.
Marcus Aniol, Managing Director of J S Wright, said: “This award is a tribute to the dedication and loyalty of our people and to our ongoing investment in top quality training and the latest technology as we power forward as a leading national contractor.”
J S Wright, which was founded in 1890, specialises in the design and installation of mechanical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.
