Brindleyplace has signed two deals securing over 38,000 sq ft in transactions for international HR firm, Mercer and global specialist recruitment company, PageGroup.
Mercer has taken out a 10 year extension to its existing lease on the 22,500 sq ft that it currently occupies on the 5th and 6th floors of Four Brindleyplace.
Currently occupying suites on the ground and first floors, PageGroup will be relocating to 15,500 sq ft on the building’s fourth floor on a 10 year lease, in a move which reflects a positive expansion of the business.
Located in the award-winning Brindleyplace estate, which is owned by Hines and Lone Star, and asset managed by Hines, Moorfield Group and Hudson Advisors, Four Brindleyplace is one of just seven commercial office buildings in the UK to have been named Best of the Best at the British Council for Offices’ annual awards.
Last year saw Four Brindleyplace undergo an upgrade to its reception and fourth floor and welcomed Caffé Nero, which occupies the ground floor retail unit, next to the refurbished BANK bar and restaurant.
Raj Rajput, Hines, said: “Four Brindleyplace has an outstanding location overlooking Brindleyplace’s central square, with a fantastic connection to the city’s main transport hubs. As an eco-friendly estate which capitalises on outstanding management and a diverse selection of hospitality and retail outlets, it’s not hard to see why people chose Brindleyplace to expand their businesses. Brindleyplace epitomises the best of working in the city, where its sense of community is testament to its ability to attract and retain the best talent.”
Both Mercer and PageGroup have demonstrated their commitment to Brindleyplace by taking out new leases and extending their space in the building, rather than relocating to other parts of the city.
Gareth Davage, senior managing director at PageGroup, said: “Following a fantastic year to date, we are thrilled to be occupying a larger space at Four Brindleyplace, a building we have come to know and love. Brindleyplace provides the perfect hub for PageGroup as we continue to expand our business in Birmingham.”
PageGroup was represented by DTZ, while joint agents for Brindleyplace are GVA and Colliers.
These lettings leave just 13,150 sq ft of space remaining in a number of small suites split across Three and Four Brindleyplace, marking the only lettings opportunities available on the estate.
Matt Long, Director at Colliers, said: “Brindleyplace has consistently demonstrated that it is a highly desirable commercial location and now presents a rare opportunity for occupiers looking for smaller accommodation to secure a high quality floorplate with canal side views in one of Birmingham’s best business locations.”
Brindleyplace boasts an extremely diverse mix of commercial tenants, including Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank and GVA. A full range of bars, restaurants and leisure amenities is also available across the estate, including Café Rouge, the Handmade Burger Company, Bannatyne’s Health Club, and the recently opened Le Monde.
