GBR Phoenix Beard has let 2,400 sq ft of office space within the office block it occupies in the Grade I listed ‘The Exchange’ in Newhall Street, Birmingham. Mitchell Adam specialises in financial and accountancy recruitment, working with clients from across the West Midlands in sectors ranging from professional services to manufacturing. The company employs 12 people. A landmark office in Birmingham, distinctive for its redbrick façade, The Exchange was constructed in 1896 as the city’s central telephone exchange, before being converted to offices around twenty years ago. The offices have featured in the successful BBC drama series ‘The Hustle.’
Letting agent Joe Shorney of GBR Phoenix Beard said:
“Naturally I am somewhat biased as GBR Phoenix Beard occupies the entire second and third floors, as well as part of the first floor at The Exchange, but if our own experience is anything to go by, Mitchell Adam will be well served in these new premises. The historic nature of the building makes this a unique setting, and the landlords have continued to invest in improvement schemes.”
Speaking about his company’s move from One Victoria Square, joint founding director Adam Butler said:
“Moving to The Exchange gives us a solid base from which to build our business, which continues to go from strength to strength. This new location places us at the heart of Birmingham’s professional district, perfectly positioned for candidates and clients alike. With a marked expansion of permanent and temporary recruitment, it’s essential that we have the right premises to position our business to be able to achieve its ambitions.”
This letting means that The Exchange is now fully occupied, the full occupier roster being GBR Phoenix Beard, Core Marketing. Mitchell Adam, and NCF Property Consultants.
