A little over a year after corporate finance partners Paul Bevan and Julian Clough joined, the East Midlands office of international accountancy firm Mazars has further strengthened its corporate finance team with the appointment of Lisa Huckerby and Ben Waldron.
Both chartered accountants, Lisa, who was formerly with Baker Tilly and RSM Tenon, joins lead advisory while Ben transfers from Mazars’ business recovery arm to join the transaction services team.
Mr Bevan, lead advisory partner, said: “With the improved economic climate deal volumes have been ramping up and consequently we have been keen to strengthen our corporate finance offer. We are delighted to welcome Lisa who we know well and will be a significant asset to the team.”
Lisa started out as a graduate trainee, being fast tracked to manager after becoming a fully qualified accountant. In 2013 she was named by Accountancy Age in a national list of the top 35 people aged under 35 working in financial services.
Ben, a Manchester University graduate, has been with Mazars since 2008 including a one year secondment to a major clearing bank in Birmingham and Manchester.
Mr Clough, transaction services partner, added: “Ben’s experience of working within the business recovery environment and his accountancy training is an excellent combination of technical and hands on experience which adds another dimension to the team.”
