Walsall town centre is set for a boost with the news that a new cocktail bar is to open.
Black Country property agents Bond Wolfe have let the Unit 3 on the ground floor of Bridge House at 47-55 Bridge Street to MV Leisure who plan a major investment in the space.
A major transformation is now underway to refurbish the 3,766 sq ft unit following the granting of a change of use. The premises were previously occupied by Goldliner bookmakers.
The intention is to open in the last week in May.
Bond Wolfe has agreed an eight year lease with MV Leisure.
James Mattin, managing partner of Bond Wolfe, said: “We are delighted to have finally completed the deal to MV Leisure.
“We had been in talks for a while and having finally secured planning permission, major investment will go into this substantial unit. I am excited to see the finished product and this will provide a fresh destination for customers in the town centre.
“Walsall town centre has suffered during the recent downturn but there is definite signs of life and improvement and this deal is testament to that.”
Bobby Purba, director of MV Leisure, said: “Set in the heart of Walsall’s Town centre night life, Makoto Bar will offer an eagerly awaited fresh and stylish alternative to the town’s bar and nightlife scene.
“Makoto Bar will be renowned for its impeccable service, style and taste. Working with some of the leading brands in the industry, our mixologist will build on our proud reputation for rustling up some of the best cocktails in town.
“The focus is on being ‘inclusive and not exclusive’. We have ensured that there is something for everyone.”
