International accountancy firm Mazars has reinforced its Nottingham roots with the official opening of its new office in the heart of the city’s business quarter.
Partners, staff and guests welcomed former England and Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme Swann as guest of honour at a reception held at the offices in Park View House on The Ropewalk.
East Midlands Managing Partner Alistair Wesson said the decision to move into a more central location closer to the city’s professional community had already paid dividends, with a 250 per cent increase in staff and a similar increase in business in the past year.
“I would like to thank our clients for being so supportive and for joining us in such large numbers and also our professional friends in the financial community in Nottingham who have helped us significantly along the way,” he said.
And he thanked Mazars’ national executive in London for backing their expansion plans in the East Midlands, which also included the opening of a new office in Leicester last year.
Declaring Mazars’ new offices officially open, Graeme Swann then regaled the audience with some fascinating insights into both cricket and his new role in the media in the lively question and answer session that followed.
Guests also had the chance to chat to Graeme who stayed late into the evening to continue networking with the many fascinated cricket fans.
