Leading property consultant CBRE has announced it has secured a tenant for a trade counter unit on Haggs Road in Glasgow on behalf of the landlord, Wordie Properties Ltd.
Howdens Joinery, the UK’s leading supplier of kitchens, has taken the modern standalone unit, extending to 9,900 sq ft, on a 15 year lease at a rental of £5.50 per sq ft. It will provide the firm with another outlet for its expanding chain of kitchen and joinery units.
Charles Wordie of Wordie Properties, said: “The completion of this letting, with excellent input from David Rolwegan of CBRE, is a great result for us. Howdens Joinery is a very highly-regarded company and is exactly the kind of tenant that we anticipated attracting. I am sure that Haggs Road will provide an ideal location for the firm to expand its business.”
The premises lie within a small commercial estate just off Haggs Road, close to its junction with Pollokshaws Road in the south side of Glasgow. Other occupiers within the vicinity include Magnet Kitchen, Magnet Trade, Dollar Rae and Gideon Robertson.
Mark Churchill, head of property for Howdens Joinery Properties Ltd, said: “We have been looking in this part of Glasgow for additional representation to serve our existing and new local customers. The unit proved to be exactly what we were looking for as not only does it benefit from a high quality specification, its location is fantastic for access to the city centre, M77 motorway and most importantly our local customers. It was vital to acquire accommodation which offered the flexibility and profile that we need as an expanding company.”
CBRE represented Wordie Properties whilst Montagu Evans acted for Howdens Joinery Properties Ltd.
