Leading South West real estate firm Colliers International is supporting behind a campaign to create a new motorway junction on the M4 between Junction 18 Bath and North Bristol Junction 19.
Gateway2Growth, which officially launches today, is pressing for a new M4 junction near Emersons Green in North Bristol. The proposal is to build the junction at Westerleigh Road, offering direct access to the M4 and speeding up traffic.
Colliers International believes that the new junction will have two significant benefits; relieving congestion and attracting business because of improved accessibility.
Tim Davies, head of office at Colliers International South West, said: “The main gateway to Bristol from the north is via the M32 – this is a traffic nightmare in the morning and evening rush hours. A new junction on the M4 will open up access to the Emersons Green Employment area and relieve the current congestion problems.
“In today’s dynamic business world, connectivity and accessibility are key factors in the decision making process when companies choose where to relocate. A new junction would be a massive boost to this part of the city. Talks have been underway about this proposal for years but I hope that this campaign will gain real traction into making it a reality.”
