Global real estate adviser Cushman & Wakefield has hired Chris White from Strutt & Parker to join its Retail Capital Markets team as a partner.
With over 10 years’ experience, Chris is a leading investment agent of his generation who has worked on a number of high profile transactions. These include the sale of Eastgate Centre in Basildon for British Land, the sale of The Lanes in Carlisle for Aviva and the purchases of Green Lanes in Barnstaple for Rockspring and Northfield Shopping Centre for Lasalle Investment Management.
Chris joins Cushman & Wakefield’s 12-strong team of UK town centre retail investment agents. The team has experienced a very strong run recently having transacted nearly £4 billion of shopping centres over the past two years.

In 2014, Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Capital Market’s advised Land Securities on the largest retail transaction of the year: the purchase of the Bluewater share at £696 million. In addition, it advised Hines and HSBC on the acquisition of The Centre in Livingston at £224 million. Other sales included Overgate in Dundee at £125 million and intu Uxbridge at £175 million. Successes have continued into 2015, with the team advising InfraRed on the acquisition of St George’s in Preston, while current sales include The Grafton in Cambridge and Angel Central in Islington.
