More than 170 figures from the South West’s increasingly buoyant property market gathered at the offices of leading commercial law firm Thrings this week for its annual series of commercial property seminars.
Building surveyors, property agents, planning consultants and accountants from across the region joined event host Matthew Smith, partners Warren Reid and Alex Madden, and associate solicitors Steve Schofield and Robert Barnes at the three seminars in Bristol and Bath.
Each seminar covered a broad range of commercial property market-related issues, as well as providing practical suggestions and relevant legal updates on how to speed up property transactions.
Among the topics discussed were flexible leasing for corporate occupiers, advice on preparing commercial properties for sale, updates on permitted development rights and the principles of ‘subject to contract’, ‘subject to lease’ and ‘without prejudice’.
Attendee numbers at Thrings’ annual commercial property seminars have risen every year since being launched in 2008, with this year’s event attracting 30 per cent more industry professionals than 12 months ago.
Warren Reid, Head of Commercial Property at Thrings, said: “In today’s property market, getting a deal through is vital. The aim of these seminars was to provide practical suggestions and relevant updates on the law which could help property professionals speed up their transactions.
“We are very pleased to have welcomed so many leading figures from the South West commercial property sector to our offices in Bristol and Bath for what we hope were informative, interesting and insightful series of seminars.”
