Wright Silverwood is delighted to announce the completion of a new Travelodge and Tesco Express in Birmingham City Centre.
Acting on behalf of Travelodge and Tesco Plc, Wright Silverwood worked in conjunction with Realis Estates Ltd to deliver the 88 bed hotel and a Tesco Express, at ground floor level, taking 4000 sq ft. The £7m mixed use development is situated on the former Marks and Spencer car park in Carrs Lane, Birmingham.
The 37,759 sq ft development will provide commuters, shoppers and residents alike, with the hotel providing more budget rooms within the city centre.
Andy Silverwood, director of Wright Silverwood, commented: “This is the third Travelodge to open in the city centre in the last two years in response to the demand for budget accommodation in the city. The co-location with Tesco is one of the number of collaborations with compatible end users we are achieving in the region.”
Construction of the scheme began in June 2010, and the scheme completed in December this year, the Travelodge hotel also opened earlier this month.
