New recruit for Greenaway Scott

A business advisory firm has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new trainee solicitor.

Cardiff-based Greenaway Scott has appointed Gemma Davies, 33, from Monmouthshire, to assist the firm with its five-year expansion plan to replicate its Wales-based operation across the UK.

Ms Davies joins the firm after six years at Finance Wales where she was involved in a wide variety of debt and equity transactions. At Finance Wales, she worked in the investment and legal teams and was responsible for drafting all documents associated with a diverse range of investments across numerous funds.

Ms Davies will join the corporate department and will be involved in all elements of corporate finance including mergers, acquisitions, management buy ins, management buy outs and private equity investments for a range of clients, specifically within the life science and healthcare, technology and pharmaceutical sectors.

This is the latest appointment for the firm, which has experienced notable success recently having matched its first year’s turnover in the first six months of its second year of trading.

Ms Davies said: “I’ve followed the development of Greenaway Scott since Nigel set up the firm in 2013 and have been extremely impressed with its achievements. Having worked for Finance Wales for the past six years, I have a vast amount of experience which I know will help me progress and develop my new role. I’m looking forward to working with such a forward-thinking team which approaches the legal market in an innovative way and really grasps the needs of its clients.”

Nigel Greenaway, director of Greenaway Scott, said: “Gemma is an extremely talented individual with a diverse range of legal experience which will be invaluable to our team. We’re keen to add to her current skillset to help her develop to her full potential and we have no doubt that she will be a huge benefit to understanding our clients’ ever-changing needs. We always aim to add new skills to our team and we know we will do this with the appointment of Gemma.”
