Kent and Medway will be in the international commercial property shop window when a strong delegation from the county represents it at the MIPIM commercial property expo in Cannes this week.
Locate in Kent, the county’s investment promotion agency, and members of Kent Developers Group will host two events designed to highlight the range of commercial development and investment opportunities available in the county.
Warwick Morris, Chairman of Locate in Kent, will be hosting a reception and dinner during the expo, with both events sponsored by Discovery Park and Quinn Estates. Other Kent partners supporting Locate in Kent include Clague Architects, kirksaunders associates, Kreston Reeves, Barton Wilmore and Berkeley Homes.
“There are some important messages that we will be taking with us to MIPIM,” said Paul Wookey.
“These include the fact that there are substantial amounts of new office space planned within the county, all within easy reach of London via High Speed Rail links, but with rents up to 70 per cent lower than there.
“There is also a considerable amount of commercial space for life sciences and professional services companies available, with more ready for development.”
Paul Barber, Managing Director of Discovery Park, Europe’s leading science and technology park, said: “We work closely with Locate in Kent to attract companies from around the world. Recent new arrivals include Genea Biomedx from Australia and Quvium from the USA.
“The Park is about to enter an exciting new phase of development, and it makes perfect sense to announce this at MIPIM alongside Locate in Kent.”
Mark Quinn of Quinn Estates added: “We are delighted to partner Locate in Kent at MIPIM 2015. We have worked with them for many years and they share our passion for driving investment in Kent and making our County a more vibrant place to live, work and play.”
Nick Fenton of the Kent Developers Group said MIPIM presented an important opportunity to put the county in the international shop window.
“We have a strong portfolio of development opportunities in Kent and Medway and MIPIM is the place to showcase this to potential commercial property investors from around the world.
“It’s important that Kent has such a strong presence and I am confident we will generate exciting leads for the county.”
