St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has started works on a new primary access road off the Clyst Honiton Bypass to open up the office element at the £210 million Skypark scheme in Exeter.
The new Western Avenue Road, entering the western end of the 100 acre site, will be completed in September 2015 by civil engineering and building company, Dawnus Construction Ltd, and will greatly improve access for existing and prospective businesses to all major motorway networks via Junction 29 of the M5.
Ian Guy, Senior Development Manager for St. Modwen, Devon County Council’s joint venture partner for the 20 year Skypark project, said:
“This new primary access road, together with other roads going in to the site later this year, will complete the £1 million investment of road and services infrastructure at Skypark. With the Western Fields landscaping also close to completion, all of the site’s key infrastructure will be in place for occupiers to enjoy the unique working environment being created.”
Skypark will be one of the South West’s most significant Business Park developments combining office, industrial and distribution space with hotel, local facilities and a biomass and gas combined heat and power plant in a landscaped environment of over 100 acres.
Accommodation can be provided to meet specific commercial or office occupier needs on a design and build basis, with build options from 5,000 to 20,000 sq ft. On completion, Skypark, one of the key developments forming part of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point initiative*, will provide 1.4 million sq ft of warehouse, industrial and office space and deliver up to 6,500 new jobs.
