The boss of a new Costa Coffee shop in Aldridge has been so overwhelmed with customers since he opened his doors for the first time last week, that he is set to recruit even more staff.
Latte lovers have been flocking to the coffee shop in Anchor Parade, which opened on Friday (February 27), prompting George Abuaita to look at increasing the number of baristas.
George has agreed a 10-year lease on the retail premises with London & Cambridge Properties (LCP), which owns and manages the Aldridge Shopping Centre.
He had taken on and trained eight members of staff for the launch of them new café.
“We only opened our doors a few days ago but we have been so busy that it looks like I need to recruit more staff,” he said.
“I’ve been looking for a long time to open in Aldridge and this particular location is ideal, being close to the bus stop, on the main road, and at the entrance of the precinct.”
George, managing director of Pioneers UK Ltd, which runs 13 Costa Coffee franchises across the West Midlands, spent four weeks refitting the 2,000 sq ft premises and has added an outside seating area.
“It’s already got a great atmosphere and we’re looking forward to building up a good clientele here,” added George.
Jo salmon, retail portfolio manager at LCP, said: “We are delighted to welcome Costa Coffee to Aldridge Shopping Centre, which enhances the leisure offering in the town centre.
“The fit-out has created a very attractive entrance to the precinct, too, which is a great bonus for people who shop and work in Aldridge.”
