Property consultancy Bilfinger GVA has appointed Alan O’Sullivan as Associate in its Energy and Natural Resources team.
Based in its Bristol office, Alan joins Bilfinger GVA with extensive experience in providing property and regulatory support services to the energy industry, and will be working closely with colleagues throughout the UK, both on project delivery and development opportunities within the sector.
Alan joins from Provelio Ltd, a Bristol-based management consultant, where he also worked on a number of nuclear, defence and education based projects.
A native of Bantry Bay in the South West of Ireland, Alan moved to the UK in 2008 when he joined Magnox Ltd, the company responsible for decommissioning ten nuclear stations across the UK including those at Hinkley Point, Oldbury and Wylfa; sites where nuclear new-build developments are also being pursued.
He says: “I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues at Bilfinger GVA, supporting our existing client base and working to demonstrate our wide-ranging capability to new clients. My approach has always been based on working closely with people, developing strong relationships, understanding where they require support and helping them in the most straight-forward way possible.”
Bilfinger GVA was appointed by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) in 2013 to provide a full range of commercial property, advisory and transactional services across its nationwide estate. This involves working closely with the NDA’s contractors such as Sellafield Ltd, Magnox Ltd, Direct Rail Services and the national Low Level Waste Repository to name but a few.
Bilfinger GVA’s Energy and Natural Resources team works with operators, energy supply companies, landowners, developers, and lenders across the nuclear, thermal, grid infrastructure, energy from waste, onshore and offshore renewables sectors.
