Commercial property specialists London & Cambridge Properties (LCP) has welcomed its first tenant to its newly built £1.5 million Progress Point development in Kingswinford, West Midlands.
Map Concrete Pumping Ltd has signed a five-year lease for Block C, Bay 3, Progress Point, The Pensnett Estate, as it looks to expand its rental fleet and business.
The 1,542 sq ft unit on the new-build development comprises eaves up to 19ft 3” in height, electric roller shutter doors, office, and kitchen facilities.
Mark Phillips, director of the family-run business that hires high-pressure and high-output concrete pumping machines to the construction sector, said growth in business had necessitated the move from its existing premises in Sedgley.
“We’ve been in business for more than eight years and we have expanded our fleet over the past 18 months, which meant we had to find a new headquarters to accommodate it,” he said.
“We were very impressed when we saw the quality of the build and the specification at Progress Point and had no hesitation in signing a five-year lease. It heralds an exciting new chapter for the business.
“This has enabled us to expand our fleet of lorries and also take on an additional 2 drivers to cope with demand.”
Paula James, sales negotiator at LCP, said: “We are pleased to welcome Map Concrete Pumping Ltd to Progress Point and are delighted that this high quality development has attracted its first tenant.
“We are speaking to a number of businesses that have expressed an interest in the remaining units and hope to announce further tenants in the near future.”
The Pensnett Estate, which is owned and managed by LCP, comprises approximately 2.3 million sq ft on a site of 185 acres, with 25 acres for future development of speculative or purpose built premises.
Existing tenants include Helix, Kennametal, Sven Christiansen, Intralox, Handicare and Booker Cash & Carry.
