Westpark 26 has achieved 78% uptake of Block Z, its latest terrace of 18 units, since construction began just 10 weeks ago.
This new building, which is due for completion in June, is the fourth of its type on Summerfield’s mixed-use business park in Wellington, Somerset, and offers 18 units ranging from 713 sq ft to 1,525 sq ft.
Duncan Brown, partner at Greenslade Taylor Hunt, has been inundated with enquiries about the new units, with 14 already under offer and in solicitors’ hands. He commented: “We are delighted, although not surprised, at the continued level of interest in units at Westpark 26. We sold all units within Block 1 prior to practical completion and are well on our way to achieving this with Block Z. Incredibly, 14 units from Block Z were under offer before construction even started and we’ve subsequently received interest in the remaining space.
“Owner occupiers, investors and tenants continue to be interested in what our high-quality, versatile premises on Somerset’s premier business park can offer, particularly the excellent location that is adjacent to J26 of the M5 motorway. Due to this, Summerfield is progressing plans to construct another block in due course.”
Commenting on the latest surge for space, Ben Trickey, senior development surveyor at Summerfield, said: “With an ever increasing number of SMEs choosing Westpark 26 as a base, it is clear that it offers an excellent proposition and business confidence is continuing.
“We have a variety of business types on the growing development and the four remaining employment units offer space that is suitable for a range of requirements, whether it’s a business start-up or a relocation.”
The business park offers a wide range of industrial, office, storage and trade counter units from 713 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft to suit a variety of requirements, although current space available within Block Z includes four units ranging from 1,005 sq ft to 1,525 sq ft.
The new petrol filling station development with a mini-supermarket and coffee shop is due for completion in March 2015 and further enhances the facilities on site.
