Leading property adviser GVA has completed the sale of two industrial plots at the Tameside Park site in Perry Barr totalling 3.48 acres.
The 1.85 acre Jubilee Centre and the 1.63 acre Sovereign Centre sites were sold for £370,000 and £325,000 respectively to a private individual who will seek to develop a number of small industrial units of up to 2,500 sq ft each.
Outline planning permission is already in place for the delivery of up to 16 units totalling 34,335 sq ft on Jubilee to the north of the site, and for 13 units totalling 25,135 at Sovereign to the south of the site.
Mark Fitzpatrick, Associate at GVA, said: “There is a good deal of demand in the local area for smaller industrial units and we are beginning to see the start of a second wave of demand from companies relocating due to the delivery of HS2.
“To have relatively small, brand new units of high quality is quite unique in the current market and I’d be surprised if these units were to remain on the market for long.”
Situated in Perry Barr, three miles north of Birmingham city centre, Tameside Park is accessed via the A453 Aldridge Road dual carriageway, with access to junctions 6 and 7 of the M6 just three miles away, providing access to the wider national motorway network.
Existing occupiers on the site include Ford, Wickes, Travelodge, Halfords Autocentre and Goals football pitches.
