Actons, the leading independent law firm in Nottingham, has continued to feed its appetite for growth with the appointment of a new solicitor, joining directors Claire Bell and Nic Elliott in its well respected employment team.
Louise Benski qualified as a solicitor last year at the London office of international law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP.
No stranger to Nottingham, Louise grew up in Hucknall and studied at the University of Oxford and Nottingham Law School. She said “It was great to train and qualify as a solicitor in London, but I wanted to join a firm like Actons where I can be more involved and make a difference!”
Claire Bell, director and head of employment law at Actons said “I’m delighted Louise has decided to join our team. It’s being said that employment work is hard to come by – we seem to be bucking the trend! The decision to recruit was a direct result of a marked increase in demand from existing clients and our success in managing to secure some great new businesses to work with.”
Nic Elliott, director and employment lawyer added “It’s great to have Louise join us at such an exciting time. I’m delighted that we’ve been able to work with and secure new work from some really interesting, growing businesses both locally and nationally including the likes of Bathstore, J Tomlinson and Hillarys Blinds.”
Louise’s arrival follows new appointments at Actons in the second half of 2014 including property lawyer Zoe Romain, wills, trusts and probate associate James Bolton and marketing and business development manager Matt Coleman.
Nicky Calthrop-Owen, chairman at Actons, commented: “It’s fair to say the last 12 months have been busy – so much so that we’ve recruited some more great people. We are really looking forward to the next 12 months as we look to carry on doing more great work for great clients.”
