A leading manufacturer of cable management systems is to move to new, larger headquarters in the Black Country after a 12-month search for the right premises.
Armorduct Systems Ltd is to consolidate its four separate units in Dudley by moving to Building 9, The Pensnett Estate, in Kingswinford, a single 36,525 sq ft site, after agreeing a 10-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties, which owns and manages the site.
The single site will add a further 8,000 sq ft of space to the manufacturing side of the business, which is planning to expand during 2015.
Marc Swaffer, managing director and part-owner of the company, which designs and manufactures cable management systems for the construction industry across the UK and overseas, said: “We’ve been looking for a single site for some months because it’s no longer practical to have us operating out of four different units.
“We wanted to expand and if we were to do that, realistically we needed to be in a single unit. We’ve also just purchased a new piece of automated manufacturing equipment from Germany and the layout in the new premises was ideal for its installation.
We’ve been impressed with LCP’s approach and are looking forward to relocating to Pensnett in March.”
Armorduct Systems Ltd employs about 60 staff but is looking to increase that by a further 10 people over the next 18 months as it settles into its new HQ.
Andrew Preston, industrial property manager at LCP, said: “This is another good news story for manufacturing in the Black Country and we are very pleased that we have been able to accommodate Armorduct in a new high quality headquarters from where it can look to expand its business.
The Pensnett Estate comprises approximately 2.3 million sq ft on a site of 185 acres, with 25 acres for future development of speculative or purpose built premises. Existing tenants include Helix, Kennametal, Sven Christiansen, Intralox, Handicare and Booker Cash & Carry.
