Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has appointed Mark Langford as a partner in its audit team as part of its continued investment in the growth of the Yorkshire practice.
The appointment follows the promotion of 19 people across BDO’s Yorkshire offices and a 27% increase in revenues for the firm.
Mark joins BDO following several years working in industry. Previously a client of BDO’s as head of audit at VION UK, a Dutch owned food group with £2bn revenues, Mark joins from AIM-listed Quindell where he was head of financial projects and delivered interim CFO duties.
Prior to that he was at Deloitte in Southampton for 13 years as a director, before relocating to Yorkshire in 2010.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to make the move back into practice. BDO has become a powerful force in the accountancy world and is reaping the rewards of continued investment in its UK and international network. Having previously been a client of the firm I know the talent of the team in place and I’m very much looking forward to being a part of that.”
Mark combines extensive experience of working with listed companies, large corporates and mid-market firms. He has a deep understanding of corporate governance and advisory services, including internal controls, financial due diligence and reporting accountant work.
Terry Jones, partner and head of BDO in Yorkshire, said: “Mark has a first-class track record in both industry and practice, and his appointment reinforces our determination to attract the very best talent for our business.
“Having been on the client-side for several years, he knows exactly what businesses want from their advisers. His technical know-how, business acumen and natural flair in providing the very best service are a real benefit to us and our clients.”
