A Midlands-based manufacturer of electrical distribution systems has expanded its operations by opening a new rental division near Lichfield.
The move to unit 4AD, zone 2, Burntwood Business Park, has enabled ide Systems to split its business into three distinct areas.
The company, which provided power distribution and cabling for the London Olympics in 2012 and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year, will locate its rental division to the 7,950 sqft unit after it agreed a five-year lease with London & Cambridge Properties, which owns and manages zone 2, 3 and 4 of the business park.
The company’s other business interests – ide Systems, which focuses on sales and manufacturing, and ide Online – will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Cannock.
Managing director Ian Thomas said: “Due to the active increase in demand, our fleet based at our HQ in Cannock is relocating to a permanent base of operations in Burntwood.
“We are taking action to redefine the ide brand and repositioning the company to maximise its effectiveness in all areas. The split demonstrates the long-term value ide Rental has to the company and the exciting potential of ide Online.”
Andrew Preston, industrial property manager at LCP, said: “The flexibility of the space suited ide Systems perfectly and we were pleased to negotiate successfully the company’s move to Burntwood Business Park, which is becoming a very popular space for growing companies.”
Situated between Cannock and Lichfield on the A5190, Burntwood Business Park offers a range of industrial and warehouse units and is six miles from junction 11 of the M6 and junction T6 of the M6 Toll Road is less than one mile away.
