The merger of Humberts Leisure with leading UK property adviser GVA, has taken shape in Cardiff as the Humberts team join forces with GVA at their One Kingsway offices.
The recently formed leisure unit, known as GVA Humberts Leisure, is bringing together the leisure advisory expertise of Humberts Leisure, GVA’s existing hotel and leisure capability, and the resources and national network of one of the UK’s leading property consultants.
Peter Constantine, director of GVA Humberts Leisure in Cardiff, says, “Through this merger we have created one of the UK’s strongest leisure property offers. Humberts Leisure already has an established presence in South Wales, and with the complementary, in-depth expertise of GVA we have an even stronger platform from which to drive our growth strategy, and a tremendous enhancement to our national leisure service.”
Mr Constantine, who leads a team of three specialist surveyors in Cardiff, also heads the UK national team for pubs and licensed property.
“Integrating our service with the GVA network enables us to offer our clients a truly national service,” he adds.
GVA Humberts Leisure provides a comprehensive range of specialist services to the licensed property market in the UK, from individual operators to major pub chains.
In Cardiff it counts amongst its clients SA Brains, for whom it carries out professional advisory and valuation services on its 260-pub estate; Punch Taverns, for whom it is currently marketing the Chain Bridge Inn at Usk, and Enterprise Inns. These established relationships contribute to it being the largest valuer of public houses in the UK.
The firm can offer specific expertise across all sectors of the licensed market including city bars, nightclubs, country pubs, community locals, restaurants and fast food outlets, including agency, acquisitions, rent review and lease renewal, rating and valuation.
Steve Gibbon, director of GVA in Cardiff adds, “We are delighted to welcome Humberts Leisure into our Cardiff team. The integration of this prestigious business establishes GVA as one of the UK’s leading leisure consultants, with in-depth specialist expertise across all leisure sectors. The leisure sector requires a highly specialised skills set and it is important to us that we can deliver to our clients the best possible advice in these challenging times.”
GVA’s existing Hotels & Leisure team is particularly focused on hotels, so the acquisition will allow the company to effectively tap into the wider UK leisure sector. This will include pubs and licensed property, hotels, general leisure, holiday property and caravan parks, golf courses, sports complexes and venues, urban leisure, water-based leisure, visitor enterprises and institutional property.
