Sheffield based contractor and developer, JF Finnegan, has been awarded a contract to construct a 375,000 sq ft Costco distribution depot in Crick, Northamptonshire.
Costco Wholesale UK Ltd has appointed JF Finnegan to undertake the design completion and construction of the new distribution depot on a 60 acre site on Dockham Way in Crick, Northampton. The 36 week build will commence in January 2015 with a completion date of end of September 2015. The design will facilitate the future construction of a second phase.
Costco will vacate its old unit on nearby Magna Park in favour of the new larger, purpose built facility. In addition to warehousing and office accommodation, the new depot will incorporate an ecommerce section for Costco’s online orders.
This latest instruction continues JF Finnegan’s long standing relationship with Costco, for whom it has constructed several units around the UK.
Gary Smith, Managing Director of JF Finnegan, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Costco on this extensive new depot. A key factor in the development of the unit is to ensure scope for additional future development with minimal operational disruption. We are gearing up to starting work on site with completion scheduled for this Summer.”
