St. Modwen has submitted a planning application for a 34,000 sq ft industrial development at Albion Gateway, its 10 acre mixed-use regeneration scheme in Burton-upon-Trent, which will create around 125 jobs.
This will be the first phase of development at Albion Gateway and comprise a series of industrial units ranging from 2,500 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft. Subject to planning approval, works to this first phase are due to be completed by September 2015. Around 60 jobs will be created during the construction phase and a further 65 will be created when the units open for business.
Located on the main arterial route into Burton, Albion Gateway is well located, being less than one mile from the A38 and with excellent links to the A50 and A511. As part of the overall regeneration of this 10 acre site, St. Modwen is investing in the local road infrastructure, which will include two new dedicated junctions to the scheme as well as local highway improvements on the Derby Road.
Ian Romano, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “This first phase of development at Albion Gateway will help meet the high demand we are experiencing from occupiers looking for industrial and business space in and around Burton. It also promises to boost inward investment and generate many new jobs.”
