A specialist in commercial property deals has joined an expanding commercial property agency in Hampshire.
George Wise is senior negotiator at Hughes Ellard, having joined the long-established independent from Acer Real Estate in London.
The 27-year-old, who started out in the sector when left school at the tender age of 16, also had a nine-year spell at Richard Susskind & Company in London.
Focusing on office, retail, leisure and industrial, George brings a number of national investment clients over with him.
Russell Mogridge, the business space director at 18-strong Hughes Ellard, which has offices in Southampton and Fareham, said: “George has a fantastic can-do attitude and a wealth of contacts, bringing with him London-based clients and which in itself is testament to the respect he is held in.”
George, who lives in Lymington in the New Forest, near family, said: “Hughes Ellard has an impressive pedigree, with talented professionals who repeatedly deliver for clients, from investor landlords to occupiers. It is a privilege to be on board.”
According to research, the commercial property sector is an important part of the UK economy and our everyday lives, employing nearly 900,000 people and contributing £42 billion to GDP, equivalent to 3% of the national total.
Hughes Ellard has also appointed another member of the team, Mark Patel, head of building consultancy.
His remit includes the preparation of acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations matters, building reinstatement cost assessments and project management, incorporating office refurbishments and fit-outs.
The chartered building surveyor, 41, came to the industry from a different path, beginning his career as a conservation mason before taking his professional qualifications at Liverpool John Moores University.
Last month (November) Hughes Ellard topped the agents’ leader board for office deals along the M27 between Southampton and Portsmouth, with 49 disposals totalling 272,360 sq ft.
