Orion Media, the company behind leading Midlands radio station BRMB, has extended its lease at Nine Brindleyplace until 2021.
The new seven year lease will take effect following the completion of the current contract, set to expire in 2014.
A part of the award-winning Brindleyplace estate, which is owned and operated by Estate owners Hines Global REIT and Moorfield Group (Moorfield), Nine Brindleyplace occupies an enviable position, fronting on to Broad Street, one of Birmingham’s busiest arterial roads. The building also benefits from rear access to the beautiful Oozell’s Square, one of the city’s finest urban public spaces.
Igor Mathias of Hines, said: “Nine Brindleyplace is an exceptional building, and through on going work such as the scheduled refurbishment of the reception area, we intend to maintain its fresh, contemporary feel. We are, of course, extremely pleased that Orion Media will be extending its current lease and are now looking forward to working with Orion Media both now and into the future.”
Jeremy Marchant, Moorfield, said: “As a destination, Brindleyplace provides occupiers with the perfect balance of accessible, convenient amenities by day and a multitude of bars and entertainment options once the working day is done.
“Brindleyplace is a truly unique destination right at the heart of the city’s burgeoning Convention Quarter, offering outstanding connectivity, an excellent location and well-deserved reputation as one of the city’s leading business destinations, all of which creates an extremely attractive proposition, both for existing and prospective occupiers.”
Orion Media operates radio stations including BRMB, Beacon, Mercia, Gem 106, Wyvern and Gold (Birmingham), broadcasting throughout the West Midlands.
Phil Riley, Chief Executive, Orion Media, said: “As a high-profile media organisation, our location fronting onto Broad Street is absolutely perfect. This building offers a truly outstanding level of quality and as we were keen to consolidate a number of our other services into one location, extending our existing lease at Nine Brindleyplace was the logical step. I am now looking forward to building on our existing relationship with Hines & Moorfield at Nine Brindleyplace.”
Brindleyplace boasts an extremely diverse mix of commercial tenants, including Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank and GVA. A full range of bars, restaurants and leisure amenities are also available across the estate, including Café Rouge, the Handmade Burger Company, Bannatyne’s Health Club, and Bank bar and restaurant.
