Leading global athletics products company, New Balance, has launched its new concept EMEA headquarters within the 30,666 sqft Appleton House office building at Birchwood Point Business Park.
New Balance has merged offices in Warrington and Wilmslow into an EMEA HQ at Appleton House which is located in one of the North West’s most successful locations mid-way between Manchester and Liverpool.
CBRE provided full design team services for the fit-out of Appleton House which has been split providing circa 3,000 sqft for a New Balance Retail Outlet store and Circa 27,000 sqft for the new corporate EMEA HQ.
The whole building was designed to represent the New Balance brand, which has a strong heritage based around the company’s origins in Boston, Massachusetts. This presented a great opportunity for the CBRE Architecture & Design Group to introduce an industrial feel to the inside of a typical out-of-town office building through the use of many industrial materials such as reclaimed flooring, brick, and Barn Oak timber. The result is an inspiring working environment for staff and a lasting experience for all clients, customers and staff to take away with them.
Oliver Thomas, Director of Building Consultancy at CBRE Manchester, commented;
“This was a fantastic project for us to provide full design team services, delivering a bespoke workplace solution to a high specification within tight timescales and budget. The success of this project was always going to be judged on the wow factor created and I believe that the CBRE design team and the contractor have delivered this in abundance. There is something quirky and different around each corner. Teamwork was key in delivering this project and it was a pleasure to work with New Balance and ADT to deliver this great space to work.”
Marzia Panizzutti, the CBRE Senior Project Designer for this project, commented:
“New Balance was a great client for us, giving us the opportunity to create an environment for them that excites and engages people, that looks forward but with a respect for their roots and craft tradition, that embodies their ethos as a sports and fitness product manufacturer”
Erin Gotowka – New Balance Project Lead
New Balance is very pleased to continue its commitment to the United Kingdom with the investment and fit out of a new EMEA HQ. We are very proud to have an outstanding new office space for our associates to work in that proudly reflects the spirit of our brand.
Tommy Cocking – ADT Workplace, Project Director
‘We were delighted to be selected to work with CBRE and New Balance. It was clear from the issued tender information, this project would create a WOW factor through the detailed design and the clever use of materials. This has been one of our most challenging projects, due to its speed and detailed complexity, but also, incredibly rewarding. We have enjoyed delivering this project and wish New Balance continued success in their new European Head Quarters’
