CBRE has announced the appointment of Richard Dakin as Managing Director of the Capital Advisors division, strengthening the leadership and financial expertise at one of CBRE’s fastest growing and most successful teams. Richard will also become a member of the CBRE UK’s Strategy and Management Board.
Richard joins CBRE following a highly successful 32 year career at Lloyds Banking Group PLC including most recently as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Real Estate, Business Support and Non-Core, Commercial Banking.
In 2009, Richard established the corporate real estate business support unit at Lloyds Banking Group PLC, covering the UK, Ireland and Europe, to support real estate customers facing financial difficulties. He assumed responsibility for a diverse range of property businesses as well as overseeing the successful deleveraging of the non-core real estate loan book.
Richard is a Non-Executive Director of Derwent London plc. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and an Associate Member of Corporate Treasurers.
Richard will join CBRE Capital Advisors as Managing Director while Philip Cropper will become Chairman of the division with a focus on managing current client relationships and business development.
