Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has recruited Mark McAlister, one of the most experienced London Chartered Surveyors and commercial property agents, as partner in the full service London Commercial team, as part of its strategy to continue growing its London commercial team.
Mark McAlister will join from Colliers International where he was head of its City office from 2008, specialising in office leasing, development, investment and tenant representation. Prior to that Mark was leasing director at Heron International, and a senior director at CB Richard Ellis from 1981 to 2007.
Mark’s role will be to build up Carter Jonas’ London client base following and an increase its advisory and agency strength and commitment to an already flourishing London presence in transactional and advisory services to clients.
Mark McAlister said: “I am delighted to be back in a UK Partnership of Chartered Surveyors. Carter Jonas’ London commercial team has been growing over recent years and has a good track record on transactional and advisory work, from The Shard to King’s Cross, to the Westfield scheme in Stratford, so I am jumping on a train which is already moving fast in the right direction.”
Scott Harkness, head of commercial, Carter Jonas said: “We are delighted that Mark is joining us as we continue to grow our central London business. Mark is well-known in our industry and market with a long career in central London. We have a very clear growth strategy in place, part of which is the continued recruitment of key people such as Mark into our firm for the benefit of our clients.”
Mark’s appointment is hot on the heels of Carter Jonas’ recent acquisition of niche West End investment practice Whittingham Prosser.
Mark will start with Carter Jonas on 5 January 2015.
