EC Harris has expanded its operations at Piccadilly Place after the international asset build consultancy acquired Christal Management in September this year.
The firm has taken an additional 7,400 sq ft of space in the building owned by Global alternative investment manager, The Carlyle Group. The additional space will accommodate the newly-acquired specialist construction project management consultancy, which will integrate into EC Harris’ buildings team. This takes EC Harris’ total accommodation at Piccadilly Place to 20,110 sq ft.
The 675,000 sq ft, Grade ‘A’ office scheme, which comprises four buildings, is already home to a plethora of high-profile organisations including Weightmans, Barclays, NHS, Arup and Egencia. The scheme also includes growing retail and leisure offer, including Starbucks and Pita Pit.
This latest deal leaves 42,500 sq ft available across the scheme, with 12,718 sq ft at Three Piccadilly Place and 29,832 sq ft at Four Piccadilly Place.
Speaking about the deal, Ben Du Boulay, Director at The Carlyle Group, commented: “EC Harris is a much valued occupier and we’re extremely pleased to have been able to fulfil the growing consultancy’s requirements at Piccadilly Place.
“There is a distinct lack of supply when it comes to high quality, well-connected office space in the sought-after areas within Manchester. Piccadilly Place ticks all those boxes and we have seen increasing interest in our development from occupiers.”
James Evans, Savills, joint agents for the scheme with GVA, concluded: “The momentum surrounding Piccadilly Place has gathered over the last 12 months. It is encouraging to see occupiers growing within the scheme along with welcoming blue-chip new tenants such as Barclays, who recognise the qualities of the buildings and wider environment.”
