M-EC, one of the East Midlands’ leading consulting development engineers, has appointed two new associates to lead its transport and infrastructure teams.
Andrew Dennison joins as associate transport engineer, where he is responsible for the output of the division, which includes access appraisals, transport assessments and travel plans, together with mentoring the company’s pre-planning apprentice, Danny Hinds. Andrew also acts as the company champion for the CIHT (Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation), meaning he will provide industry feedback, attend events and encourage wider membership.
“I was at a point in my career where I wanted to make the next step and adopt a full team leadership role,” explains Andrew. “M-EC presented the perfect opportunity to tackle this challenge and I’m now managing a team of four in what is a thriving consultancy. Our division currently has a diverse portfolio of work including assessments for large scale housing and commercial development sites, as well as a proposed extension to a major Research & Development campus in Cambridge, so I’m keen to build on this and broaden the range of services we provide.”
On the infrastructure side of the business, Craig Perks has been appointed as associate infrastructure engineer and will oversee the activities of the nine strong team. Currently working on the company’s major mixed development site in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire on behalf of David Wilson Homes, Craig is also training first year infrastructure apprentice, Cameron Green.
“I started as an apprentice so I’m really pleased to be able to help train the next generation of engineering professionals,” said Craig. “Engineering is a great career which has taken me as far afield as Norway and Iceland, utilising different software and programmes, so I’m keen to use my experience in my new role with M-EC.”
Speaking about the new associates, M-EC’s managing director, Eddie Mewies commented: “Andrew and Craig have joined seamlessly with the team and are both already managing significant schemes for their respective divisions. I am confident they each have the experience and enthusiasm to forge successful careers at M-EC.”
Based in Ibstock, Leicestershire, M-EC now employs 31 people and works nationwide.
