Plans submitted for mixed use scheme at Matlock

A former Derbyshire quarry could be transformed if plans for a mixed use development scheme are given the green light.

The plans for Halldale Quarry have been submitted by 4M Property Partners which hopes to bring 60,000 sq ft of commercial space to the area, as well as build 220 new homes.

Located on the outskirts of Matlock, the quarry has been closed for some 25 years but these proposals would see the site given a new lease of life.

Mark Elliott, director at 4M Property Partners, said: “The scheme we are proposing is a vital new commercial and housing development for the area.

“This former limestone quarry has been closed for a number of years and our plans will see the site regenerated into a range of family homes with excellent leisure and commercial facilities, which will not only benefit these new homes but those living in the wider area too.

Mark added: “We have a great deal of experience in redeveloping brownfield sites such as this one into desirable locations for people to live and work – and we are really excited about this project.

“This is a fantastic scheme that will see a disused quarry totally transformed, delivering much-needed homes for local people.”
