Leading consulting engineering firm Morgan Tucker is expanding its presence in London with the acquisition of structural engineering firm, Bolton Priestley.
Part of a wider £2 million expansion strategy, the acquisition will increase staff numbers in London to 30 employees. All of the current Bolton Priestley employees will move to the Morgan Tucker office in Farringdon by the 10 November.
Matthew Tucker, managing director of Morgan Tucker, said: “This acquisition of Bolton Priestley will further develop our client services in the capital by expanding our structural engineering division there.
“We have worked with the firm for over 18 months on a number of projects in London utilising their expertise, so it made sense for us to make the move permanent and have more resource at our disposal as we work towards our ambitious growth plan.
“The development of our structural engineering capabilities in London will enable us to add value to our client offerings in the city. Our expertise stretches across a much wider range of engineering projects so we will also provide the current Bolton Priestley clients with an improved breadth of services.
“Bolton Priestley has a very strong client base in the city, particularly in the healthcare sector an area where we are looking to expand and we are looking forward to the business opportunities this acquisition will provide.
“Bolton Priestley has a talented team of structural engineers who we know will offer additional expertise to the Morgan Tucker Group.”
Working on behalf of Morgan Tucker, Austin Moore, partner of corporate transaction specialist at Austin Moore Law in Nottingham said: “We are delighted to be acting on behalf of Morgan Tucker with this first acquisition as they implement their growth strategy.
“This expansion in London will see excellent business benefits to both sets of clients.”
The acquisition was managed by corporate finance advisory firm, Eastwood Anglo. Bill Eastwood, a director at the Nottinghamshire-based firm said, “This is the first transaction we have completed for Morgan Tucker and we are delighted to be advising them on their dynamic growth plan.”
Morgan Tucker employs 80 people across its three offices in Newark, Leeds and London and has ambitious growth plans to increase this to more than 200 by 2020.
